K guys I've been looking all over the forums for a solution to my problem, but so far no luck. I've got a quick hesitation after takeoff around 2200rpm, about half way through second gear. It also happens at cruising speeds. I'll set the cruise at 70, and about every 10-15 sec. you will feel a stutter just for a sec. It gets really bad on hot days with the A/C on in traffic. I just had plugs,cap,rotor,wires,egr valve cleaned, and maf sensor cleaned, new fuel filter too. Nothing helped. No codes or lights were ever on, I just knew she needed a tune up, bought it with 60,000 and now 113,000 haven't had any problems like this till now.(plenty of other stuff though! ) I was hoping that all the work I had done would've solved my problem, but it didn't! The only thing I can see is when I check my AT fluid it is always over the full mark by a inch or so? I had the GM dealer do a complete flush/fill with Amsoil at about 90,000. That was spendy, but the fluid looks new and smells fine, just seems to be always high.

I know it seems like such a little issue, but at stop and go driving it gets old really fast, and then once you are cruising it is still there!

Have you consulted a transmission specialist yet? I'd try to find a small mom'n pop shop-they seem to generally know more about what they're talkin about.

I drive a '95 blazer and I experience the same type of hesitation when I have my a/c on. I figured out that it is the condenser for the A/C cycling on and off. If I turn on the a/c and just let it sit in park it cycles on and off every 10-15 seconds. When it first comes on there is a hesitation/drag from it coming on as it is engaged.

Basically, because of how the a/c engages, even when fully charged I don't use it because I don't like how it drags the engine down when it comes on.

 

I have a 2000 trailblazer 4x4 with 125000 and mine is doing the same thing with or without the a/c on and I have replaced plugs,wires,cap,rotor button,TPS,MAF,tranny filter change,fuel filter,fuel pump checked, CAT changed and mine is still doing it I just wonder if it's the fuel injectors. So im feeling your pain for sure. We need some help for sure.

 

If it is always from around 1800-2200RPM consistently, it is possible that this is resulting from torsional vibration in the balance shaft that is triggering the knock sensor, retarding timing and hindering performance.

This is documented in TSB 03-06-01-024.

It is always at 2200-2400 rpm just as second gear starts to climb. Under normal acceleration from a stop. It's only for a second and if you watch the tach it will "freeze" for a sec (thats when it pauses for a sec) & then the tach starts climbing again. Once again you will notice it about every 10 sec or so while you are cruising at hwy speeds on cruise. It doesn't matter if the A/C is on or off, but it is worse when on.

How would you go about fixing this if it is the balance shaft? Is it a monster job?

did you read the link swartlkk posted? at the bottom of the post says if it is the balance shaft it can be corrected by installing a timing chain tensioner.
