Whoops! K got it, but there isn't any "rattle" going on. Just a quick hesitation/stall like nuisance going on around the higher rpm's listed.

The rattle may not be enough that you can hear it, but enough that it makes the knock sensor think detonation is occurring.

This is documented in TSB 03-06-01-024.
I'm assuming if you bring your blazer in for this TSB 03-06-01-024, and they find it to be a needed repair, we will be paying for parts & labor right?

swartlkk, thank goodness for you and your plethora of knowledge!

TSB's are released to help technicians diagnose common problems more easily. They are not recalls so any shop rates and materials costs will be applied to the repair.

You can do this repair yourself if you are mechanically inclined. It is not too terribly involved, but removing the timing cover can be a bit of a pain (oil pan needs to be loosened and dropped in the front).

I was looking at some of the other TSB'S and #02086 looked like it could be the solution as well. Intermittent Neutral at takeoff, or steady speed.

TSB Number:02086 NHTSA Number:10007782 TSB Date:January 1, 2004 Date Added to File:July 12, 2004
Failing Component:
Power Train
Summary:
4l60e, 4l65e intermittent neutral from a stop or steady speed.

This is all I could find without having a Alldata account. It sounds interesting though.
