Hit electric wire now check engine light

Default Hit electric wire now check engine light

I was driving my 2002 blazer hit an electrical wire that was down at about 40 mph I didn't see it dangling. It drove fine and no damage but now I have a check engine light. Any idea what it could be? Will have the code pulled tonight.

Check engine light is on because it has power and ground to it. Once we get the codes, we'll find out why

So, I'm guessing the line was de-energized? Even a little distribution line is 7,200 volts, phase-to-ground!

P0171 is system too lean, bank 1. I think hitting the wire and the CEL are coincidental.

Clear the code and see if it comes back. If it don't, don't worry about it.

The o2 sensor might be junk. I have seen a tig welder fry a wideband before.
