Default How do I get the actuator cable out of the Transfer Case

I have a 2000 Blazer. The Actuator Cable was cut off about 5 inches from the Transfer Case. I have a new cable, & know how it runs, but I don't know how to get the old one out of the Transfer Case. something seems to be holding it and I don't want to break anything. What does the cable hook to, in the T-Case?

Transfer case or front axle? There shouldn't be a cable going from the actuator to the t-case, there is a vacuum hose , but no cable. The cable runs from the axle to the actuator

I have a 2000 Blazer. The 4wd cable was cut about 5in. out of the T-Case or Diff. (I don't know which). The cable goes from there to the actuator under the battery, and I have the new cable. I just can't get the old one out, for fear of breaking whatever it is that's holding it in there.

ok. for starters, it goes to the front diff.

secondly, the cable is attached inside the diff, and if you don't know which one is the diff & which one is the t-case, then.....IMO, you should just stay outta there, and take that issue to a mechanic that you know, or a friend you trust.

sorry, i'm not against helping people fix their vehicles, or even showing/helping them do it.

but when you don't know if the diff is the one under the front of the truck or mounted to the back of the transmission, then maybe this is one repair item you should leave alone.

So, what's holding the cable in there?

Ok, it's the Differential/ Axel. The cable goes from there to the actuator under the battery, but I don't know what's holding it in there. Do you?

there is a retaining spring that holds it in there.
you can get a screw driver in there to pop it off..
the retainer is going to be on the clutch cable side of the diff not in the diff..
