Default How do you remove the fuel pump out of the tank?

I was just wondering how to remove the thing that holds the pump in the tank off of the tank. I have the tank dropped ~5" and disconected, I just need to know how to get it out. Thanks.

The locking ring needs to be turned to unlock & release the pump. This is typically done with a brass punch & a screw driver. If fuel is present on the exterior of the tank, it is very important to use a brass or otherwise non-sparking material for this task.

A brass punch? Don't know exactly, but probably.

You're probably going to need more than 5" to get the pump out, I pulled my tank completely out to do it. But I could be wrong, depends on the pump style (being a 95 it's probably different than mine)

Did the new pump come with a new, 4-flat connector (4 pins all in a line) instead of the factory 2x2 connector?

No, the connector in the tank has 2 pins. And the connection on the outside of the tank has 3. The pump didn't come with one. I wasn't able to get an oem brand, so mabey that had something to do with it. They only had an airtex pump, and scince I need to get home on friday, I didn't really have much choice.
