Ok, so my fuel pump wont turn on as you know. I've replaced the relay and I notticed that the ecm ignition fuse blows when I try to start it. Any thoughts as to why?
Edit: Ok, I think that the fuse was blowing because I was bypassing the relay to see if the pump would get power. And it did. but it wouldn't start. What am I missing?

you have a short somewhere or its wired incorrectly. Possibly the wrong pump. Got a part number handy?

But the pump looked the exact same and had the same hardware with it. Why wouldnt the computer give the signal to the relay to power the pump?

in 95, the 4.3L came in CPI and TBI versions. One rund on 9-11 psi and the other 50+ psi, IIRC. Just because the pump looks the same doesn't mean its the same internally.

When I jumped the relay I could hear the pump turn on. When I turn the truck on there is nothing.

This is 99 so will be some different than 95 {think wiring changed in 97 IIRC}
Is there anything else not working? Do you have spark when you crank?
Do all inst panel warning lights light on key on?

Ok so I bypassed the relay again to please my mom and I got it to run perfectly. So I'm guessing the wire to or from the ignition has been grounded or broken.
