so I'm replacing the hub. That part's easy. Have the half shaft out too as I'm replacing that.
Here is the problem. I'm trying to put the inside end back into the diff and it won't go all the way in.
There is some type of 'c' clip thingy on the end. The axle that came out has it too so I know it should be there. It seems a bit wider than the axle but moves around.
How do I get the splined end to go all the way in?
Help :-(

Never mind :-)
I persuaded it into place with a two foot section of 4x4 by gently rapping on the hub end. Worked like a charm.

new hub and axle are performing awesomely. I realized last night at 80mph on the freeway that "hey..I forgot to replace the two cotter pins from the ball joints.."
I bought new ones on the way home and shall put them in today :-)
