Drivers side half shaft removal!

Default Drivers side half shaft removal!

hey guys i blew the bearings in my front diff in my 2002 blazer zr2 and i am in the middle of just pulling the half shafts for now til my parts get in. i got the passenger side out fine but it seems there is some sort of trick to the drivers side... i can not get it loose from the case any advice asap would be great I NEED TO GET THE HALF SHAFT OUT!

someone told me there is clips or something in the drivers side... HELP!!!

Yes there is a ring that holds the tripot joint/ shaft into the differential gear. The ring should compress against a chamfer that is in the side gear of the differential. It will require some pressure. I have attached some instructions in a file. Not sure how to paste them in here. The ring will collapse into the groove in the shaft as it passes through the differential gear, and should remain on the shaft when you remove it. Hope this helps.

I used a 4' pry bar on the tripot joint and had a buddy pound on the tripot joint like the last post directions. It's a PIA and takes a while but keep trying it will pop out.
