i am getting ready to change the intake gaskets on my 97, the typical seeping from the rear drivers side gasket. curios to how long a typical job like this takes, i know on my 87 monte ss i can do it in an hour but this looks like it's going to be a pain in the A#@, any input is appreciated

Depending on your mechanical experience and tools, anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. It's fairly easy, take some pics so you will know the routing of the wires or you may find them too short to connect if routed incorrectly. The connectors can't be mixed up, they only fit the the correct sensors so it's basically straight forward.

I would plan on a weekend for unforeseen issues. Try to get it all apart before noon on Saturday so that you can still make it out to an autoparts store before they close for the weekend (if they do).

As I have said before in many other threads, this is NOT a permanent fix and can cause more severe problems later on down the road. If your intent is a quick fix to drive for a bit then dump back onto the market to be someone elses problem, go for it.
And JBLAZE, please turn off the caps lock.

My personel experience with intake manifold gasket replacement was a learning experience. Make sure you have a power steering pulley puller ( learned that the hard way). One other suggestion is to get felpro pinto gaskets as the replacement gasket kit, they expand and contract way better then the factory set that was installed. It took me 2 hrs a day and 3 days so 6hrs total to do mine, it was my first time replacing mine and I have done several since then!! Good luck and if you need help just post up and we will help you to the best of our abilities!!

why did you use a power steering puller? ive never had to pull the power steering pump you just take off the a/c compressor and you just take off the 3 botls and the nut and then take the nut off that holds the power steering pump to the block and slide that whole thing forward and leave it there
