how many hours to change intake gaskets on 97 blazer
i just read that write up its prettyg ood but i have never taken the alternator off or the idler pulley
i can do it in about 2 to 3 hours now but i've done it like 30 times

I have done it both ways and I will remove the power steering pulley from now on. I find it is WAY easier than messing around with the two nuts that hold the PS pump to the block (one on the side and one on the front).
Like kyle said removing the pulley makes life easier!! I always look for ways to make any job easier and less of a hassle!! bodean if you run into any problems let us know!! The rear water ways that your talking about did you clean them off to find out that on the intake manifold itself they capped off a 1/4 inch in to the manifold???
I should have said with the proper tools. I can remove and reinstall a power steering pulley in under 5 minutes with the puller that I have. MUCH easier than the problematic side nut where a deep socket is too long and a short socket is not quite deep enough. With an in-between length socket, it probably wouldn't be that much of a problem, but I have a puller and don't have a socket that is in-between.
