Default Humming @ 35 and shaking @ 70mph???

Ok, just had all 4 tires balanced and rotated thinking it would cure this, but it didn't.At around 35-40mph I get a noise similar to blowing air acroos the top of a 20 oz bottle from the rear...bearings???? And at 70-75 mph I get an intermittant vibration that feels like it is in the rear, as my steering wheel has no vibrations.....u-joints/poorly balanced driveshaft?? I need some insight please..[sm=feedback.gif]THANKS!this is my driveshaft

I had this exact same problem a little while back and it was inded the wheel bearing. Had it replaced and the problem went away and hasn't yet come back, so I assume it soled the problem.

sounds like the wheel bearing, you dont feel vibration when tires are missblanaced you kinda feel it more like shaking its hard to explain

well, I would classify it more as a shaking I guess........it shakes my a$$ in the eat...but the steering wheel is still smooth. My driveshaft is fairly pitted, does anyone think that could cause a shaky vibration like thing? It just drives me crazy!!!lol

Yes, I was getting vibration too. And everything was exactly as you say 35 the noise started and around 70 my blazer would turn into a shiatsu massage parlor. I would go have your bearings checked.

I would also look into the u-joints as this sounds similar to the u-joint problem I had a while ago. Now I am getting that clicking noise from the rear end (not too loud though, can only hear it when I drive by a wall), so I will probably be checking into rear bearings soon too.
