Scary brake problem

Scary brake problem
Recently, my 2000 Blazer (w/4 wheel discs) started behaving funny. While making a sharp right turn and braking at the same time, the brake pedal started pushing back against me very rapidly, and hard enough to move my foot back off a couple inches. It made a sound like a hammer hitting something behind the brake pedal or in the engine compartment. Now it does it every time I come to a stop. And it won't do it while braking at a high speed, only when coming to a final stop, like at a light, or stop sign. I've also noticedthat whenI finally do stop, I hear a whoosh sound, and the pedal then acts normal.
I've never experience anything like this before. Does it sound familiar or does anyone have any ideas? I've replacedthe pads and had the rotors turned, and it still does it.

RE: Scary brake problem
Hey Matt,
I have had the very same problem. While coming to a stop the truck like jerks to a brake. The brakes scare me a lot tbh. But I have so many problems with this truck. But yeah i have had scary braking while coming to a stop. The weird thing is this only happens sometimes not all the time. Someone was telling me it could have something to do with the 4wd while turning but i know nothing about cars tbh. Good luck and let me know how ya make out.

RE: Scary brake problem
sounds like you might have a leak in the system..or it's sucking up air...pulsating is usualy do to warped rotars...however you have two pistons that apply pressure to the calipers..then to the pads...if you have a leak...or air in the system...the excess fluid or air has to escape before the pistons can act properly...possibly causing your rough stops...and the woosh sound...also some times you can get a roack wedged in there...just some ideas..
