Default HVAC Heatrol control valve?

Ok sorry for the all the questions but Ive been trying to get this truck running for damn near a month now. I have intermittent heat. It just decides to run whenever it wants to. I just changed the radiator and flushed the heater core to no avail. It came out good while flushing so dont think its clogged. I dont smell fluid or have wet spots on carpet so dont think its bad. I have read on my search here about a possible hvac control door or something but didnt get many details as it was a single post. Can anyone refer me to a better thread on it or better yet give some ideas as to y no heat? I know its gotta be something simple cause most headaches are arent they?

I get correct fan speeds on all settings and hear no hissing either. Like I said its just sporadic and its too damn cold here and wifes always taking my truck. Lol. Not cool.

Thanks

You may have a bad thermostat or air trapped in the coolant system. What does the engine temperature gauge read, and does it hold steady?

It reads 195* or there abouts....operating temp. Thermostat is newer (Nov '08) and was doing prior to and after changing it. Ive changed fluid so much in there I cant imagine air trapped. How u untrap it? Although I doubt its that I will give a try. It works sometimes just not most. Cap is new also. Hoses get warm.

To burp the system, raise the front with the right side slightly higher. Radiator cap off, run the engine to operating temp adding coolant as necessary. Let the engine cool down and repeat the process. Let us know.

You can get the air out of the system by removing the rad. cap and run the rpm at 1500-2000 with a garden hose trickeling over the thermostat housing.Do this for 10-15 min and it will purge the air out of the system
