hvac switch ball bearing on 01 blazer?
I have a 01 blazer and in the middle of hooking everything back up after replacing the heater core. Let's see if I can explain this good enough. I picked up the temperature control switch panel thing (under the radio) and a ball bearing fell out of the hvac switch (think its called that) the switch that controls defrost, or were the heat/air blows, vent feet etc.... There is a lil hole for the bearing on the back of the switch so I stuck it in there and hooked everything up and the switch did not feel right. The switch turns real smooth like. It didn't click or stop between selections (vent/ feet/ac etc..). So I took apart the switch and found a copper plate with 3 springs but no place for the bearing. I'm at a loss here and have no idea were this lil bearing goes. Can anyone help? Thank you.
EDIT: ok judging by the looks of this I took the switch off at the wrong spot. (closest to the panel vs closer to the vacuum lines) I'm thinking there WAS a spring behind the bearing pushing it out to touch the nipples on the other part of the switch, which creates the little tick when you make different selections on the switch.
EDIT II: lmao, thank you bic for putting small springs in your pens. It works like a charm ;-)
Now back to putting this thing together
