Default Hyperblinking Taillights

I have LED lights in my 98 LT taillights, now of course since their LED the sensor is messed up and they blink fast, just like if I had a light out. My problem is I tried to install a load resistor on each taillight (per instructions) and they still blink fast.
The one thing I have noticed is that only one of the lights blink for the signals and that same light is for the brake. The other light is only for the parking lights. I've been checking out some other models when they put their turn signals on it seems as though both of their lights are blinking for the signal.
Ok, so now my question(s):
Is one light bulb supposed to blink for the signal/brake? Is this only on specific years??
I have two different brands of lights in the sockets, could this be causing my problems?
Should I just install two load resistors instead of just the one per light?

I have had problems with regular light bulbs (melting the inside of the light, red coloring wears off) and my taillights are completely clear, similar to those of a new mountaineer.
(I have no pics right now camera is shot)

Any advice would be appreciated

make sure you actually have the correct # bulb and second make sure the bulb is in correct .. That may sound silly but it can happen...

No it's not silly, I do have the right size bulbs, 3157 and they are in tight as can be. When I bought the tail lights though they came with red 3156 but only two so I had to put new ones in.

They actually said 3156 on the bulb itself

that 3156 bulb doesnt sound like the correct # for some reasoning... that almost sounds like the rev bulb...

I would try a different flasher, and yes only one bulb should be for the turn signal and brake per side.

3157 for brake/blinkers, 3156 for backup lights if I remember right (sorry I have a first gen and my brother has the second). The right way to put them in is to change out the thermal flasher for an electronic one. The resistors work but just seems like adding parts to fix a problem instead of just fixing it.

Yeah on my stock taillights there are 2 bulbs per side. both flash for turn signals, both illuminate brighter for brake lights and both come on dimmer as running lights. Both should be the same bulb. So for the entire rear bulb setup you should have 4 3157 Red (brake/turn/running light, 2 per side) and 2 3156 white (reverse light, 1 per side). I would not mess with the resistors and go for the flasher fix as mentioned above. This is easier and doesnt involve hacking into your taillight harness screwing things up.
