Identify Emmisions Part? (Pictures)
Hey guys, I've had a weird exhaust leak for awhile and have finally found out where it is coming from. The leak is only audible when accelerating, at idle and cruising at same speed there is no audible noise. While accelerating, there seems to be a looping chk sound. I know that sounds retarded, I can go make a recording if someone would like to hear it to help identify. I used a hose to listen and narrowed down the leak to this part, yet I have no idea what it is. Could anyone identify it and help a guy out? Thanks

AIR (air injection reaction) check valve & line to the exhaust manifold.
You likely have a bad check valve that has allowed hot exhaust gas to burn through the plastic/rubber lines that go between the check valves and the AIR pump that is located under the radiator on the inside of the passenger side frame rail.

Could this perhaps lead to overheating issues?

A problem with the AIR system should not cause an overheating problem.

I crawled under this morning and traced the line back to the pump. The oil filter access door gives you a pretty direct look at the T- fitting. The plastic piece and hoses looked fine, no meltin g, but something that looked similar to the EGR was covered in rust dust. Will try and take a listen down there later today and see if I can pinpoint the leak more.
