Well I was driving the 98 Jimmy today and some lights appeared on the dash. I am showing low fuel (filled up less than 30 miles ago) a battery icon in red, no led on the 2wd hi indicator, no tempature and no highligted gear indication. These just appeared on the way to have new right front hub and all ball joints replaced. Any clues. Charging indicator shows 13.8 VDC and I am in 2WD. Kind of goofy.

 

Fault indications
1. Low Fuel light on and guage reads EMPTY, tank is FULL.

2. Will not shift to 4WD. No solenoid action.

3. Temp guage not working.

4. Battery icon (above fuel guage) is on.


Cause of Fault Fuse #15 10A for 4WD smoked.

 

The only one I can give you a solid suggestion on is the fuel gauge. Most likely you are dealing with a bad floater in the tank.. you'll need to drop the tank to replace it.
