Ignition switch help....
Im new on here so any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated..My ignition switch sometimes works, sometimes not...when it doesnt the dash lights do not come on, it will turn over but not start. If i play with the switch a little it will eventually start..From what i have read on other threads here a good place to start is the switch...So i am going to replace it..I have a air bag model so what am i going to have to do to avoid this thing blowing up in my face? I do not have a shop manual for it and cant afford one right now...but i do have plenty of tools to do this with...just lookin for a little guidance...Thanks!!!
Hello, I am not familiar with this problem, however if you have ever torn apart an older ignition harness, you will see several wires, one of them is start, the other is ignition power(which would provide power to your ignition lights and so on) I would suspect your ignition switch is malfunctioning or your harness has a broken wire...
You should disconnect the battery first, and wait for the airbag module to discharge( do a search on the web it could be 5-30 mins of discharge time) I would then begin to diagnose.

I sprayed out the ignition with electronics cleaner to see if that would help, it appeared to a little...Any word yet on how long to leave batt unhooked before safe to remove air bag and steering wheel? someone mentioned 5-30 minutes? thanks
