Ignition switch?? Tumbler??
I have a 98 Blazer, and today when I went to start it, I turned the key to the first position and the car started, however the starter didn't disengage. So I turned the car off, tried starting it a few more times and finally got it to disengage after the start. Drove the car, everything seemed fine. Now the car is still starting on the first position of the key(you barely have to turn the key and the starter engages), and the starter is staying engaged, if I pull the car into gear it seems to disengage. It has me worried. I looked online at getting a new ignition switch, but I'm not sure if the problem is in the ignition switch, the tumbler or the starter! Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix it, I don't want to destroy my transmission or the starter.
