Default Ilink 400 full system scan tool

I attempted to do the relearn procedure for CPK but it doesn't finish. When it instructs you to rev the engine, I do so and nothing happens. I know you must follow the procedure exactly as it says, and I'm 100% sure I did half a dozen times but got the same result. What could I have missed?

Did you gradually increase engine speed to 4000 or so RPM, then let off the gas immediately when the engine started to slow down on its own? I've done the procedure with a Snap-On scanner and it does NOT tell you to do it that way. It basically says to stomp the pedal to the floor, which doesn't work. I got the other procedure from a service manual, and it worked on the first try.

Yeah I mashed my cloven hoof to the floor lol. Made me nervous as hell to take it up to almost 5500 rpms. I'll try doing it gently.

Tried this on my 02 Blazer and my 03 S10. Did not work. Thinking the scanner is junk.

Make sure no codes (even pending codes) are present - I have found this can prevent the crank sensor relearn from running. I clear codes on same key cycle with engine running - right before running the relearn.

Computer must see the park brake applied (in addition to the foot brake), so parking brake light must be on (so at least depress the park brake enough to turn on the light).

Good luck and don't knock the bearings out doing the crank sensor relearn. You should hit fuel cutoff if you take a few seconds to accelerate the engine.

You scan tool may or may not tell you if relearn was successful. Mine does not. If you hit the fuel cutoff, you can assume it worked.

Hey, do me a favor, please see if this scanner will activate ABS bleeding on your Blazer. I just bought a hand-held to do ABS bleeding. But ABS bleeding and SIR is pretty much all that it does. For $30 more it seems I could get this one and get quite a bit of powertrain functionality. Not too late for me to return mine on Amazon.......

Please report back and let us know if you get the thing to work and what you had to do. I might be interested in buying one.

Yeah, me too! I did find on Amazon (in questions answered for that product) where someone said it worked on a 2003 S10 for crank sensor relearn. Also found someone who said it read cam sensor retard. And another who said it worked on the Blazer ABS Bleeding procedure. Also found some people who had some troubles, but there is always people who can't get things to work when they should. what I find interesting is that the manufacturer's web site says it works on both OBD1 and OBD2 - so maybe this will work on 1995 OBD1.5??? Not a priority for me, but could be a blessing for some people if it does.
