Ok well I am just retarted, I am still confused on the exact procedure of what to do after you find the hose. The only thing I dont understand is how to hold the hose. You say hold the hose pointing down. Can I just take the can and shove the hose down into the can and let it suck the liquid out of it...

it wont fit over the can. just put them tightly together, and tip the can on its side and let the vacuum of the brake booster suck the seafoarm out

Good Deal, I apssed out last night, couldnt finish the convo.

I dont even know what year vehicle it is, but I wouldnt suggest pouring it down the TB, I dont think itll do a good job if its just poured, I think the vacuum sucking it up has to do with spreading it out over the carbon in the intake system.

I kinda wish I had a digicam to show the lines and a step by step.

I am going to try the brake booster hose seafoam today, I will take pictures with my digital and post them ok?I was going to take pictures of the EGR Cleaning process, but I forgot to charge my battery, and the camera was dead when I took it out there...I got one picture of the front drivers wheel off when I was doing the plugs and that was when it decided to die on me.

That works, but why do people take the wheel and tire off to change the plugs? you dont need to do anything but turn it out of the way to get to number 3 and 5.

I removed the PCV hose from the drivers side valve cover and stuck a small funnel into the end of the hose that runs to the intake. But first, see if your engine will run with the intake duct work off and MAF disconnected. Or I will try it during lunch if you don't respond back by then. If it runs, then simply pour 2/3rds of the bottle down the TB keeping the engine running. Pour the last 1/3rd in fairly quickly (technical term I know) and let the engine die just as the last bit is sucked in. Let it sit for 15-30 minutes and then go drive it like you stole it until the smoke clears from the exhaust.

Atleast pull all of the plugs to check them for fouling as well as proper gap. Change the oil once you have completed the upper intake cleaning.

Everything should be done with the engine up to full operating temperature.

*EDIT* because I didn't see this before I posted:

Actually, pouring it down the TB is the preferred method, but it cannot be done on vehicles with horizontally placed TBs. By pulling it through a vac line, you are making it more concentrated at the location where that vac line pulls the cleaning fluid in. So for the PCV valve, the fluid will be more concentrated on the driver's side bank than on the passenger side bank simply due to the location and orientation of the PCV valve vacuum source in the upper intake. The same is true for the brake booster source. IIRC, it is also located on the driver side of the intake manifold.

The TB will sufficiently atomize the fluid when pulled past the butterfly valve and when poured towards the back of the TB, it will promote a more even distribution than through one of the vacuum sources.

Now all of this is true for the '96+ vortec 4.3L. For the other years, if you have a vacuum source on the TB itself, use that to suck the seafoam into the engine either out of the can or pour it into a small funnel.

I can't even remember how many cans of seafoam I have used on a very wide variety of vehicles, but what the heck do I know...

I used the PCV hose, too. I actually cut the bottom off of a beer can. Since I didn't leave in backwash in the beer can, it was easily rinsed off and dried. I then poured very little Seafoam into the beer can bottom. I then started the Blazer and disconnected the PCV hose from the valve cover. I then stuck that into the Seafoam in the bottom of the beer can. It sucked it up quickly and huffed and puffed. I poured some more Seafoam into the beer can bottom and repeated. I actually stalled the Blazer twice doing this. I was worried about hydrolocking (or whatever) but not too much. I then shut off the Blazer, actually I didn't start after it stalled. I waited a good 20 or 30 minutes. I went out and started the Blazer up and drove for the highway for a 10 mile spin. My goodness did that sucker smoke. If you know as little as I do it almost makes you nervous seeing all of that smoke coming out of a previous fine running Blazer. Too my amazement the Blazer ran every bit as good as it did before, if not better. The hardest part was not cutting my hand on the beer can bottom.

On my vehicles with a regular throttle body, i poured it in there, and with the 94 blazer i let it suck up the booster hose. Both methods worked very well. The blazer smoked so badly, that people were stopping in the neighborhood to see what was on fire. It was very embarrassing.

lol ok so where is the TB? I take the intake tube off the top of the engine and thats the TB? I just pour it down in where the air gets sucked in?

Yup. Sorry... I didn't get a chance to see if my truck would run without the MAF sensor plugged in during lunch, but I believe it will. I'll check when I get home.

But yeah, you'll dribble it down in there. The amount you dribble down in is dependant on how easy you can keep it running. Just try to keep the fluid to the back of the throttle body.
