Question Immobiliser question

Hi, just wondering if I disconnect my battery will I lose the immobiliser/keyless entry settings on my Blazer & have to re-program my remotes?
I'm not sure if it applies to North American models but on our European ones there is a requirement to turn the ignition on & off a couple times (amongst other things) & enter a 5 digit code before programming can begin. I do not have the code & to obtain it means taking the vehicle to someone 200 miles away who has the necessary equipment to read the security system & get the code. Don't really want that hassle if I can help it.

not sure if it would or not, just to be on the safe side i'd use the battery with the 12volt plug in, so you're computer won't reset. you know what im talking about?

Yeah I understand - I could hook my trickle charger up to one of the 12v power outlets just to play safe. I am pretty sure that the immobiliser settings would be OK but i'm not taking any chances without the code to reset things.
Thanks for your help.

No problems after disconnecting the battery for about 3 hours last month. Same care as yours. If you have any questions about the code of european blazers, try search for " 5 digit code".

i have to unhook my battery every night cause of a parasitic drain on the battery, cant do anything about it till it warms up a bit. but i have not had any problems with my keyless entry at all. works every time.

I have a similar problem. The car starts for 10 secs and the the immobilisor cuts in. it has cost me over 1000 uk £ so far and is still a random problem, occurring every six months or so. I'd like to completely disconnect it, but don't know how. Should I re-programme the system ?
