I think we are talking about different things then like i said I am just a novice so my terminology might be wrong.. But are you talking about the CV axel? That is all I can think of that snaps in to the transfer case... If so that is all one unit the ring should already be on the end that goes in to the case..
This is the part that I am talking about.. and yes this part is about $70 new at the auto parts store.. there should be one for each side.. so $140 ish... also don't go by the measurements on this pic.. I just put the first pic I found on (for my blazer) to show you what I am talking about.. but the whole shaft is assembled including the snap ring.. even has a new hub nut and washer in the box..

You have your terminology wrong. CV Shafts go to the front differential, not transfer case. He's talking about the driveshaft that goes from the transfer case to the front differential.

Yes...I am talking about the drive shaft. Diaita''s comment got me thinking about this snap ring that i cannot find. The end of the transfer case spline is grooved for the ring. You can see the splined shaft in the attached NP233 transfer case.

So it's the little yellow snap ring in that link that you're looking for?

If you get stuck, you can have the snap ring from my old CV style output shaft.
