help help my instrument cluster had smoke coming from it. unplugged the b attery and removed the cluster. took it apart and found a scorched area under the transister. i went to a pick and pull parts place and got a clean cluster and installed it. the water temp and fuel guage wont wotk as well as the lights to the spedo and odo. the lights will come on on the on position but go off when started. am checking ground wires but trouble finding them. any thing will be appreciated. oh--98 blazer LT

 

Never tested it personally, but I have heard that 98's guage clusters aren't interchangeable with the other years. (Though 99 up are supposedly interchangeable with one another) depending on what year you pulled the new cluster out of that could potentially be the issue.
