My intake manifold gasket has been leaking for about a month in my 99 blazer. I want to replace it asap. I know it is a big job, but I would like to try to accomplish it myself. Does anyone know where I could find detailed instructions on how to do this or if anyone could give some suggestions that would be great.
Thanks!

A haynes manual. Get some injector O rings from the dealer before the reinstall on the injectors. Permatex high temp copper silicone too. that helps for the corners. Might as well install a new water pump since you have to change the coolant and engine oil when you're done. Use tapeand label everying. fuel lines, vacuum, ect, I did it to the plug wires so I know where they go.
I did this while replacing the upper plenum on my '01 Impala. I did a post some time last year on this.

I had found a how-to on the net a long while ago and have the PDF file that detailed it all out with pictures on my laptop, however, I do not have the link to the website where I found it on my work PC. I'll see if I can't dig that up for ya when I get home from work.

Yup, that's exactly what I have in PDF format. Hmm... I just couldn't find it.

Is the intake manifold gasket a normal problem on these engines? It seems like on every other GM viechle either I or my family has owned it had this problem.

YES this is a notorious problem with the 4.3sas well as many other GM V style engines. The job is fairly easy and doesnt require any special tools besides a tourqe wrench in inch lbs. I just did mine last weekend. From start to finsh I had the truck running in 5 hrs.
