Default Interior ambient air temperature sensor

I inherited a 99 Blazer LS 4 door 2 wheel drive. It has the automatic climate control and the sensor over the driver seat is buzzing loud enough to be irritating. I’ve tried to find a new one and Chevrolet no longer makes them and there are none in their parts catalog. I found one in Canada but they don’t ship internationally, does anyone have any idea for a substitute or work around. It’s part number is
AC-Delco 15-51149 or Chevrolet 15756446. I’ve replaced the blend door actuator with the correct one and it’s still just blowing hot air. I don’t think the temperature sensor is the fix but it’s still not working correctly and has to contribute to the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

You might have to get one from a wrecking yard.

If you feel comfortable doing it, perhaps you can open up the one you have and see if there is something you can fix, e.g., add a small drop of 3 in 1 oil to the fan?

I did look and stumbled on what looks to be a very similar part; 22834330. Perhaps it could work or you could swap parts from one to another, if you are comfortable experimenting and tinkering with stuff.

Good Luck

I’m going to the local pick and pull to look for one. I’ll tear into the one I have and see what I find, sounds like 1 blade of a fan ticking every time it rotates. Thanks for the part number I’ll check it out.

I have a cousin that is a redneck genius and he worked out a workaround. Got a toggle switch and soldered the blend door motor to it and I mounted it in the cover of where the 4x4 controls would be. Up is hot and down is cold. It took 6 seconds to go through the full range so I just have to make sure I don't push on it for too long.

Replace the fan.
Check electronic component suppliers on-line. Probably find one that close.
I oiled mine when 1st noticed it making noise. It's been good for 5 years.

That is good to know that a drop of oil can help as I have the same system.
