Interior light issue
Here we go again. I have replaced the door switches on all 4 doors and the rear glass. I also replaced the lift gate door latch in case that had something in it like a switch or something. NOTHING has changed. The only way to get the interior lights to go out is to hit the over ride button on headlight switch.
So, should the next thing I replace is the headlight switch itself? I heard the interior lamp control module is included in the remote entry module. I thought I got that part from a salvage yard but when looking up the part number, it says it is the remote keyless entry receiver. Is this not the same thing? I just got rid of a beautiful olds aurora that was driving me crazy and here I thought this blazer would be a better choice. So far I am so damn frustrated I want to scream.
I need some help please!
Thank you!
Oh, dealer took my vin and said that i do not have the door handle switch things to illuminate interior lights just by touching the handle.

over 83 folks have read my post but no one can comment or have suggestions? I replaced switch today and it still does same crap. Interior lights just will not go off. Appears i have bought another piece of general motors ****!
My 2 year old son loves to sit in the drivers seat of cars and push buttons. One day he pushed the override button switch in some combination that I can't be sure of and my blazer did EXACTLY what your are describing. The interior lights would not go off unless I hit the override switch. After about a YEAR, I decided to really look into again, and what I recall working was hitting the override while sitting in the car with the door closed and then opening the door and shutting it again. And ever since then it has worked. I've spent tons of time hitting the override switch with the door open with no success.
My memory is a bit fuzzy, and it could possibly be another combination that fixed it, but it was something along the lines I described above. It was about 6 months ago that I stumbled upon this fix.

if i use over ride button and have the lights off, nothing will turn them back on. If the over ride button is used to turn lights on, they dont go off. So maybe the correct position for the over ride button is to have lights off, but then why wont they come on? Then I also found out tonight by testing things that the RAP retained access power feature isnt working either. Meaning, when key comes out of ignition, the radio should still play and you should be able to close windows until a door is open. That isnt working either.
