Question Interior lights/Dome light stay on all the time

Hello

My Blazer is a 2004 LS 4 door with 4WD

I would like to get some help/advice on the this problem. My interior lights and dome light stay on all the time. This just had a few days ago I did get some help from my father and he suggested to use wd40 on the door jam switches and dome light over ride button. I used the wd40 and pressed the buttons alot on the dome light over ride and door jam switches. This time it is not helping and yes I did have this problem a few weeks ago and the dome light over ride did help and not help. After I used the wd40 the first time i soaked the hell out of all the buttons and the problem was gone for a few weeks and now came back. I have used the dome light over ride button in the past to shut off the day running lights. Side note is the driver side door will not lock after the blazer is running it keeps unlocking and I need to use the lock button on the key fob to lock the driver side button. The other doors and tail light lock just fine.

I am guessing my headlight switch/dome light over light button might be going south on me. That part is still the original and never replaced. I could have a stuck button or short in it. I have tried using the over ride button again with no luck. I have opened one door at time using the door jam switch to see if my lights go out that did not work and I had help with from my father he was on the passanger side and I was on the driver we opened up doors holding down the door jam switch lights are still did not go off. The only thing I can say is after the key is in the ign the chime will stop after I pressed the door jam button. Tailgate is good and fine no problem there.

I have tried to narrow down this problem using suggestions from my father and good year. I checked inside fuse box everything is good there. Engine bay fuse box I did want to check out the fuses were in there tight and I did not pull nothing out I was afraid I would break something I was going to check out horn fuse, drl fuse, and mir/lkg fuse in the engine bay fuse box. I did not so idea on those. After reading up on a few forums and suggestions from good year and my father it sounds like my problem could be one of the following

1. Headlight switch-20 years and never replaced-maybe a stuck/break button or a short in the switch
2. Bad or Stuck relay
3. BCM is going out maybe or is bad
4. Power lock door switch or control is bad/going out or stuck
5. electrical short in the system. I hope this is not the problem that would suck

I did get ahold of a new headlight switch from the chevy dealership the last one in my state according to there warehouse. My headlight is no longer being made. My headlight switch is the one with the foglight button. Any tips help advice would be great. I plan on taking my blazer to good year to have them test my BCM, Relay and do a check on things later this week. Right now I got the dome light over ride to work with keeping the lights off while its pressed in, but the drive side door lock will not lock unless I use my key fob button.

The only thing I can advise here is to seek professional advice on the issue because there is nothing I can help with. You know your car better than anyone, but a fresh look might help identify the car lights problem faster. It often happens that the owner cannot notice something obvious to another person. That’s why to get to know other people’s opinions about one problem or another. It amounts a lot to the solution. In this particular case, it would be good to invite a guy from a car repair shop to take a look at the car and give his opinion.

The way to approach this is with a digital multimeter, a set of wiring diagrams and a diagnostic process.. I can help you with the last two, Do you have and know how to use a test meter?
