Sounds like torque converter shudder. I had a more thorough post typed up, but saw your bump and figured I'd leave you to hunt for the info.

Please do not bump a post unless you have waited at least 24 hours as the rules of the forum require.

I had the same thing about a year ago. Ended up doing several different things at the same time and it has not come back.

From what I recall...

-clean MAF
-Seafoamed
-replaced cap and rotor (brass contacts)
-fuel injector cleaner (Lucas)
-fuel filter

And maybe another couple of three more minor maintenance items. One or a combination of two or more fixed the problem.

I thought it might have been the torque converter and really didn't want it to be so I tried a few other things to eliminate anything else first.

Torque converter shudder can be caused by many different things. The MAF sensor has been the #1 cause in my experience. If left go too long, it can either wear out the clutch in the converter, or blow the TCC solenoid.

A tune doesn't change the basic OBD2 structure of the PCM, it just changes what codes are valid to trip.

Clean the MAF sensor and see what that gets you.
