i have 98 blazer 4x4 and the key will not turn. it works in the door and truck has power. i just got the truck after a crash and have no idea why it wont work. any ideas?

 

go get a new key cut i will almost bet $10 this is the problem

 

ya i was thinking that. its the old owners spare and looks old. im going later today.

 

The earlier second gen blazers had an issue with the ignition switch breaking. It was something to do with the ign. steering lock mechanism I believe. It could be your issue. I paid more than $200 to have a dealer repair it just to find out I could have fixed itfor a fraction of the cost.

 

98 isnt a early second gen but no it was the key, i had to make a copy of a cpy and it worked

 

I believe that SockJock was just making a connection to the early 2nd gens, not stating that your truck was an early 2nd gen. Glad you got it all working.
