Default Largest size tire and tranmission question

I just picked up a 97 Blazer 4x4 It has 124k miles on it

1st ? What is the largest tire I can run without lifting or cutting?

2nd ? The trans has no forward gears (just reverse) Could this be a valve or sensor problem?

#1- check out the Tires & Wheels section

#2- What is the condition and level of the transmission fluid (check warmed up, engine running, on a flat level surface)? Did this problem occur suddenly or gradually?

I bought it like this today, so I have no history on it
