Default Tranmission Help Fluid on Passenger Tire

I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer. 4 door. While driving home from work today I was climbing a hill and all of a sudden my RPM's were shooting way up but I was not moving any faster. Car was actually slowing down. I pulled into parking lot and put in into park. Noticed a little smoke coming from the passeger side front of vehicle. Started car again and tried to put in gear and nothing. Got out of car and noticed all this fluid on my front tire fender well and tire. Pulled out tranmission stick and put back in, no fluid on stick.

No gears and fluid all over passenger tire and fender well. Has a reddish color to it. Had it towed to tranmission shop but they weren't in yet.

Any idea what this problem could be.

Broke a transmission line

Does that cost alot? These things always happend at the worst time. Just sent off my tax bill.

I suppose that depends on how you fix it or how you get it fixed. If you do it yourself, you would save quite a bit. Especially if you just cut the line at the leak and slip some hose over it and clamp it. Otherwise you can have a line made up at a shop or purchase a factory replacement.

the biggest cost if you do it yourself is the transmission fluid that you have to put back in it . I

Funny thing , My transmission line blew on me just alittle while ago , I was on my way to a interview . Mine already had a rubber hose on it so I was able to cut the bad spot off and put it back together . Wow did it smoke like crazy though and I only lost about a half of a quart .

Its possible the clip broke that holds the cooling line on, or the o ring went bad and leaked. I changed my radiator and knocked the retaining clip off, so during my test drive my cooling line popped off and I blew all of my fluid out all over the ground and the entire passenger side of my 97 blazer. If the line just popped out then its just a few bucks to fix plus shop labor, which is usually around $100 per hour, plus replacing all the fluid ya lost.
