Ok folks I have attached some pictures of the bottom of my blazer. The rear end looks bad but i don't know what to do about it (not a car guy). the video link is of my front end but i have a splash guard with the leak dripping off of it.

any help or information would be great.

P.S I know my blazer is in very bad shape and I don't have the money to take it to a shop.

 

Looks like you need a new rear axle cover. It's around $15 for an aftermarket one. Just clean it well with thinner and give it a good coat of paint before putting it on. You'll need a few quarts of 80w90 GL5 gear oil. Before you get started into that, make sure that the fill plug comes out. You can check out a tech article I created on Rear Axle Service in the Tech Article (DIY) section.

As far as the leak at the front, I would first try tightening up the pan bolts. While you have the two plastic plugs out of the bell housing area to access the rear most bolts, you can take a look at the front of the flex plate. If there is oil all over the flex plate, then the rear main seal is leaking. If there isn't, then it likely is a pan leak which may be solved by tightening up the pan bolts. I had this problem on my old 2000 Bravada that was solved in this manner. It occurred a few times and the last time I removed the bolts, cleaned the bolt holes with brake cleaner, and re-installed the bolts with some blue Loctite. That kept it from coming back for at least a few years before I sold the truck.

 

looks like you have the oil filter relocated up front, a make sure thats tight and check your oil lines for leaks. its kinda hard to tell without being there ya know

 

yes thanks a lot for the help, I'm going to replace my rear axle cover asap bc it looks kinda bad. Also thanks for the ideas on what to check for my oil leak. I hope to get my blazer back in decent shape to make it though the rest of winter here in Indiana.
