Lifter Valve???
Hello Everyone My 2004 Blazer has a couple issues i would like toask about. First off at idle it has a clicking sound my dads Suburban also has it but it seems Like alot of vortecs have it when i rev my engine the Ticking gets a bit faster with the idle. Also when im accelerating the engine has a rattle sound like a lifter or a valve. Would u suggest an oil change seafoam??? I know vortecs have Carbon problems.
One last issue from park to drive its fine but when i shift the truck into reverse it has a harsh clunk which shakes the whole truck and can be heard how do i fix that.
Thanks gueys.

On the first issue it is most likely the gm piston slap you can read about it and listen to it here http://www.pistonslap.com/, but if it didn't make the noise in the past and now it is then its probably not it. As for the second issue I take it you are shifiting into reverse on level ground when stopped. Is there any rpm jump or anything else that accompanies this clunk noise.
