sorry didnt know where to post this but here it goes....everytime i start my blazer from a cold start all my lights flicker, the headlights interior lights and even the time on the radio but after a few mins usaully 5-10mins they stop and eveything is back to normal also another thing ive just noticed is that when im driving at night and i turn my brights on the battery meter starts to show lower voltage now is any of this normal and if not wat could the problem be?? i was thinking maybe battery or alternator but im not expert.

1st thing I would do is clean all of your main power and ground connections. Sounds like a poor connection until the alternator is putting out full idle power.

Sound likely that you have 2 problems. For the flickering durring starting that could be a battery or a bad connection to it. Check the terminals and the battery itself and make sure both are AOK.
However with the brights taking a big toll on your voltage I'm going to say that your alternator is probably on its last leg. Drop by you local autoparts store and ask them to test it. If its barely putting out any amps then that would explain both issues as the alt is probably not giving the battery a good charge.

No problem. We're glad tohelp. As a suggestion, if its the alternator, when you go to get it get one with a lifetime warranty. Did that for my blazer and I've gotten two replacement alternators at no cost since the original that i replaced. For only investing $110 to begin with, its well worth it.

Well, checking the connections at the battery are only two of a number of connections that can result in a drop in available power. Check the main cable on the back of the alternator as well.
