Default Low Fuel - Won't Start

I got a really weird problem I have never experienced with any other vehicle. When my Chevy Blazer (2000 V6 FI LS 4D 4X4) has 3/8ths of a tank of fuel or less and it is parked nose down on even the slightest incline (>7 degrees) it will not start. If I move it to level ground or point it nose up it will start just fine. Has anyone had this problem and can you tell me the way to fix it?
Whatever the problem is, I think it is getting worse. While the starting problem has been going on for some time, here is something new: In the last week the Blazer has been stalling when stopped in traffic on an incline with the nose pointed down with more than a 1/4 tank of fuel. Luckily it restarts just fine but it is a real nuisance and I do not want this to happen in a critical moment.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Shain

Very commom issue:the pump is located at the rear of the tank-therefore you are starving the pump! This is also a leading cause of pump failure,so now fill it up and do a pressure test,if it doesn't hold to spec, replace the pump or regulator! If you live in a very steep area, always maintain half tank capacity as the fuel cools the pump as well.I found this out with my first 2nd gen in the White Mountains of NH the hard way! 14% grade going up,no problem..but going down was a WHOLE other story! 13 mile tow out!

i had a similar issue and ended up replacing the fuel pump, which fixed it. After i replaced the fuel pump, i started taking the old pump unit apart and found that there was a line that went from the top of the pump assembly to a pickup inside the bucket at the bottom of the pump assembly. when fuel runs away from the pump and the strainer screen is uncovered, the bucket at the bottom of the fuel pump assembly will still have some fuel in it which will keep your car running for a little while. but the line that went down to the bucket to pickup that fuel had come unplugged and was just dangling about half way down the pump assembly. so when fuel ran away from the pump and the strainer screen became uncovered, the line wouldnt pick up any of the fuel in the bucket and the car stalled. i could only use about 15 gals out of my 18 gal tank before the car would stall. After replacing the fuel pump i've put in 17.7 before without any stalling issues.
