Default Low power

This is my soninlaws car so this will be kind of vague. He has intermittant power problem where it will just go into an under powered mode(can't get above 55 mph on interstate. He says this happens only once in a while. I know it's a 2000 with around 55k miles. I know this is not too articulate, but it's not my car and I haven't owned a chevy before and have no knowledge of them Thanks. Any known issues like this? No cell lights.

You really aren't giving us much to work with. It could be an intermittent problem with a sensor. I would have the PCM scanned just to make sure there aren't any pending codes. Retrieve the history while you are in there to see what might have popped up in the past as well. Sometimes that can give you a direction to go after.

Just scanned for pending codes and got a p0101. Is this a MAF code?

Well, it was kind of funny. Went to two Advanced auto parts places and both of them told me they couldn't see a code with out a cel light(even after I told them
I was looking for a pending code. Went to Pep Boys where I got the same cockandbull story and lied and said the cell light had gone out and could they look for a stored code. That is when I saw the p0101 code. Came home and sprayed the MAF with Maf cleaner and will see if that helps. While taking the MAF off I saw a wire(with a round lug connector) that was loose right next to the MAF and at the bottom wire bundle going into fuse compartment. It looked like it should be attached to some stud and had the number 102 on it. The wire was a solid red. Anyone have a similar year model car that could look where I should attach this wire? It would be a great help if someone could do a quick look. Thanks

That wire is probably for the heavy duty trailer harness. I wouldn't worry about it, nor would I connect it unless you have a 7-pin plug on the back.

As far as cleaning the MAF goes, here's a write up on the subject:

Thanks for all the help you have given me. First time on the board and I found it very friendly and helpful.
