lower intake install

Default lower intake install

Hello my name is Harry. I have a 1995 chevy blazer 4.3 vortec. thiis weekend i am replacing a cracked lower intake. I am looking to get help with the torque specs for the bolts on the lower intake(this would be the intake that the spider sit in). there are 8 bolts holding it on.I have the bolt tighten order but the front of my haynes manul is missing, so I can't look up the specs. Please help.

You might see if Autozone.com has that info. Look under repair guides and put in your year, make & model.

Starting from the front( toward radiator) left(passenger side) the and going around, the bolts are numbered 7,1,3,5,6,2,4,8 where 8 is the front right, 5 is back left and 6 is back right. I know you said you had them but i wrote them so you can insure that my manual is the same as yours. On page 2A-3 is says year 88-95 35ftlb. No sequence listed. On 96-00 there is a three step process listed as 1)27 inlb 2)106 inlb 3) 30 ftlb. I have also read that if you should follow the bolt holes with a tap to get a nice even torque. Good luck

If you cant find what you need, i could photocopy some pages if you need them and email them too you, just let me know before tomorow night.

could you please to harrygees@yahoo.com, also not to be a pain in the butt, I have new bolts but do you know the tap size? that would be all that i need. thank you

Final torque of 124 in-lbs.

Lower intake tightening sequence:

Final torque of 35 ft-lbs.

My book shows exactly what is pictured above with the same specs. I guess what i wrote earlier with the 8 bolts are for 96 and above, but it does not give a size for the tap , it just says use the proper size.
