Default Max Towing Stock

Is the Blazer able to tow with the bumper hitch? Got to move from collage and it would be nice to be able to use a small u-haul. If so how much weight? The trip is about 600 miles one way, so doing multiple trips is something I'd rather avoid.

Your owner's manual should have all of that information for you. You should be able to find one to download online. If not for your year, then one close to it that will give you a guide.

The manual gives very little info on towing with the bumper hitch and mentions my max towing is 5,200 lbs and to use a weight-distributing hitch
and sway control of the proper size if the trailer is over 3,500 lbs. I very much doubt the bumper hitch could do either of these.

Have you looked on the bumper? If I'm not mistake it should be printed on there close where you would mount the ball. If memory serves, it should be 300lbs max tongue weight and 3000lbs max trailer weight.

I'd look at mine but its cold out and the bumper is covered in snow.

Just had a look at mine, as it is the number hitch as well, and it says 3500lbs max

Depends on how rusty your bumper is... I wouldn’t tow anything with my bumper! Just install a true hitch would be my suggestion

I've seen these hitches on Craigslist for cheap!
Your local man mall/salvage yard should have plenty of donors, as well.

Get on the uhaul website and put in your vehicle info. Then theyll tell you if they will rent to you. Most of their small trailers are pretty heavy for their size.
