Default Mechanical oil pressure gauge

Hi guys,
I picked up a Mechanical oil pressure gauge.
I have a second gen with the electrical pressure gauge in the dash.

I was wondering where to run the line?
Should it thread into the remote oil filter?
tap into the oil cooler lines before the radiator?
It came with an install kit similar to this:http://www.nfauto.co.uk/images/feb20...uge_tubing.jpg
Here is the item its self:52mm OBX Oil Pressure Press Gauge Black Face PSI Gauge | eBay
Could someone post pictures of where to install?
Thanks!

This just a head skratch idea, but on the remote oil on my boat I put it on the output side however that is electric. I think there's enough space up there on my Blazer. The stock sensor shows me when the filter goes to bypass with an unwavering 40psi so you sould be able to get an accurate read right after the filter. No comments please on why my filter would have to go to bypass, long story. Good luck and a good time to due a good inspection on all those lines. They are prone to fail.

I tapped my oil cooler lines coming out of block going to filter. Just spliced the line in with some brass pieces from the depot. I used teflon tape on the brass and have been fine since summer. I did have a very minor seeping issue at the gauge in the cab. My fault i think..not tight enough.
the setup works if you route the nylon tubing right...i had them in my old 69 gto for ten years..never a day of trouble. Just dont kink the nylon..i went thru the fire wall behond the brake pedal..

I just bought a mechanical guage for my 97 blazer, can't you just remove the stock switch and install the mechanical in its' place?

That's what I did on my '73 Chevelle when my dad and I installed actual gauges to replace the "idiot lights." Just installed the mechanical oil pressure gauge where the oil pressure switch went, if I remember correctly.

But maybe with the the electronics, if the stock switch isn't connected properly, the fuel pump won't run, or something? You know, in case the engine stalled, it wouldn't keep pumping fuel into it? I seem to remember hearing somewhere that cars had some feature like that, but I don't know about the Blazer.

GM hasn't used the oil pressure sender to disable the fuel pump since the 80's. On your 1997, the oil sender provides an additional circuit that allows more amperage to be available at the fuel pump. If you decide to eliminate the circuit, it would be best to increase the gauge of the wire from the fuel pump relay to the fuel pump. Another option would be to remove the sender and install a branch tee in its place. Then install the sender in one branch and the fitting for the mechanical gauge in the other branch.

Careful planning BEFORE you drill a hole Usually near where the throttle cable goes through the firewall is a relatively "clear" area. It is accessible both under the hood and in the interior. Use a rubber grommet to protect the nylon tube, then seal it with silicone sealant to keep water out of the interior.

when i ran mine i went thru where the throttle cable goes thru the wall. basically exactly the way capt described it. as for the pressure line i made a t in the oil cooler ling coming from the engine. been that way for over a year...no problems.
