MFI Conversion Advice
Hi all,
This past week I put the MFI conversion on my wife's 2000 Blazer. The old injectors were leaking. When I installed the wiring harness on the top of the injector body one of the pins was slightly bent and as I pushed it down it bent the pin even further so it didn't go into the harness and make contact. That led to a code P0303 and some seriously rough running. This morning I removed the harness again, found the bent pin, straightened it and carefully reinstalled the harness. Now it runs beautifully.
Learn from the error of my hasty installation and be very careful installing the harness!

That pin should be been straightened out the 1st time ya saw it... It has a purpose . Glad its running well tho. Its a good feeling.
I wouldnt change if its not bad... doing a leak down would tell you if yours is bad or not.

Yeah also remember to lube the seal before putting the intake back on like i DIDN'T do lol. Or else the spider wont seat properly in its hole and you will end up with a fat vacuum leak. Took me almost 2 hours to take it apart and put it back together the first time, then the second time it took me half an hour haha.
I oiled up the seal around the fuel injector body before I put the upper plenum on. The replacement injectors I bought had instructions which included that step.
I caught the bent pin the first time around and straightened it out. I just didn't straighten it out enough and I wasn't careful installing the wiring harness so it got bent again.
Now it runs great and the mileage is up (19mpg+, up from 16) and it has much more power. I also ran a can of SeaFoam through it just for good measure once I got the pin straightened out.
The wife's rig is running again which means she's happy which means I can go back to rebuilding the front end of my '98 Jimmy.
