For some reason, the #3 plug is not always replaced during a tune up, might be due to it being neatly tucked out of the way
As for your overhead console, straight from the owners manual:
To reset the trip computer, press the MODE and US/MET buttons simultaneously for at least two seconds. All functions will be displayed briefly once the system is reset. Reset can only be performed in the AVG ECON, FUEL USED and AVG SPEED modes. All three modes are reset at the same time.

I managed to reset it yesterday, I guess the search bar on this site does come in a littttleee handy 
when I bought it, it unfortunately didn't come with an owners manual, who knows what the last guy did with it.
