There are TONS of threads on how to restore/improve your miles per gallon. The search feature can help you find them.

But really, you have to know where you are now. What is your actual miles per gallon? Stating that you get 200 miles to a fill up really doesn't mean anything without knowing how many gallons you use in those 200 miles. And you know what they say about assuming...

Well I did use the search function.. But when you have 50 things it could be...
I need to narrow it down a little.. And knowing how a good forum can be.. I figured it might be a common issue..

Is there any common issues that may need to be looked at...

Im AVG 10 miles per on a 19 gallon fill up @ 200 miles

Tune up? Dirty MAF? Dirty EGR? Vacuum leak? The basics really and pretty much some of the first suggestions found in every thread I could find in a quick search. There's even DIY threads on the middle two.

Did you try any of those "50 things"? What have you tried? Any codes?

I havent yet because I wanted to see if there were a few common issues before anything else.. That would explain why Im here... Most boards are very friendly.. guess this isnt one of them..

Most models have some common problem.. which is why I asked if there were any tips..
Something to look for.. I guess I could have searched for hours.. But thought some one could point me in the direction

Kyle (aka swartlkk) is just trying to tell ya that you probably don't have a problem that someone else hasn't posted about before, so no need to take offense. This is a common problem, but what causes the problem varies. I would check all fluid levels, check tire pressure (should be 32 psi), clean or replace air filter, change oil and filter (IMO use a WIX filter and Valvoline Full Synthetic oil), maybe spark plugs and wires need to be replaced, fuel filter could be clogged, EGR valve and MAF sensor may need to be cleaned, etc.... just about anything could make your fuel efficiency low. Sounds to me like it just needs a full tune up.

Thanks guys... It has a new air filter.. Only 60k on the spark plugs.. So maybe one is bad..

Ill try cleaning the MAF.. but If I do the math this is getting 10mpg.. I seen new its rated at 15 to 19.. I know from dealing with Nissan Xterra's some times there are common issues that can be fixed to help bring the MPG back to spec..

PS I did try searching.. but its a wide category...

Looks like plugs wires are in my future
