Default More console crap

just installed a 99 model overhead console (with trip computer,9 wire) in my 95 blazer. Its wired exactly how it should be, class 2 serial port, vss, everythings right but it wont work for sh$t,well somewhat. Everything appears to work for exactly 25 seconds, then all values revert to 2 dashes, untill you turn the key off and back on. Is there a non compatiablilty issue between the year models thats possibly making it not work ?????????????

did you connect up the orange power wire? Sounds like its losing power...or the class 2 signal. Did you check all your wiring connections to make sure they didnt get pulled when you reinstalled?

I connected the orange to battery power,I tried two different class 2 points, first the purple wire at the OBD port then I tried pin 14 on the "black" connector at the computer. One thing though, everybody says pin 14 wire is yellow mine is not, its green with a white stripe. Maybe class 2 on 1995 is'nt pin 14? I'm lost on this one......

the write up I've got on it lists the class 2 wire as green with white.

Edit: WAIT...just realized youve got a 95...I wonder if that makes a difference with your OBD1-2 (1.5) thing. Although you're getting all the information for a few seconds, then it cuts out? Or is it just a few parameters? I'm thinking youre getting the correct VSS signal, but with your hybrid computer diagnostics....you need a different wire for class 2 data?

That's what I'm thinking. I get all of the correct headings on the display such as; comp;temp/instant mpg/average speed/average mpg on so on.The values that appear for 25 seconds are kind of strange- comp NW temp 63 at that time this info seemed correct; instant fuel eco 99/average mph 32 /fuel range /average fuel eco 15 /and theres one that has somethingto do with the miles you've gone on current fuel,I can't remeber the title of it, but it reads 338. After 25 seconds all readings revert to ".thanks for the responding.I wonder if my class two is a different pin # ?

sounds like its pulling those numbers from the memory, and then when it cant get new supplied data, it shuts off.

Might try resetting it. Not sure on the wiring though...everything I've got is wiring for 98+ [&o]
