LOL.. hate to start my letter that way but listen to my experience with my wifes so far....
we bought it new in 99. After getting it home 3 days later the oil pressure takes a dive.. we check it to find there is NONE in there.. We bring it back they say sorry fill it up check it over and say its all good..Fine Whatever..
One engine mount is broken.. so the exhaust is loud
Since then it burns oil like its evaporating like water..lol
One winter I take it to work and go to move the seat back and SNAP!! Not only does the handle break off but the entire gears come out of the seat..DOH!!
Next summer... passenger side did the same thing!!!
the lever that opens the hood snaps off and we now have a vice grips holding that in place..
Last winter the heater core blows up and leaks fluid inside the dash making the windshield perma fog...
And lastly (not really blazer specific but it pissed me off) The front passenger tire starts to shred and twist yesterday in the heat...
WTF... never gonna buy one again... 27k dollars of hassles

You must have gotten the rotten apple.
I loved my '00 so much I bought 3 more. A '93, '91, and a '87. I bought the '91 for my oldest son, but he could see past the spotted cow look so I used it for parts on the '87. The '87 is my sons DD until I get the '93 running. Then the '87 will be my trial toy. I bought the '93 for $50 because the engine was blown. I have a working engine in the '91. I have since stripped the '91 and got rid of it.

I agree...there are lemons no matter what...
My parents bought a Mazda 626 BRAND NEW and it was in the shop 90% of the time so they offloaded it pretty quick...but overall I wouldn't say that Mazda's are that bad...they just got one bad one.

I paid $500 for mine cuz the guy didn't need it (it had been sitting in his carport for 6 months) and he knew that I needed something to drive as I had blown the motor in my last car.
I haven't had any major problems with it, I replaced the brake pads and changed the oil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. It had a new crate motor installed in '98, with a transmission rebuild the next year. The engine has about 87k miles, the transmission has about 57k. I just rolled over 250k on the odometer yesterday, lol.
But yeah, I've had no major problems, except the ones I've caused by ghetto dropping it (worn bushings, frequent tire changes) and hitting a deer and a guardrail (extensive front body damage), lol.
