Question Multifunction switch repair

1999 blazer 4x4

only the drivers side brake lights do not work
all other lights work (inc flashers and turn signals)

im pretty much 100% sure it is the multifunction switch or its wiring.

anyhow could someone take some close up pictures of the device with it assebled and disassembled?

even better would be a nice video showing how to repair it.

to my understanding its probably a short or some wire came loose.

thanks

were you trying to tell me to search the forum on "how to repair multifunction switch"?

good luck on that one

btw i already did google and found some on a dodge but it has a different MFS

if someone could do a write up or howto on how to repair one of these it would be awesome

even some really good close up pictures with it disassembled and assembled would be great

This could be your first assignment as a new member!
I think most people just swap them out.
If you do take your old one apart and take photos.
Maybe you will find something that looks like say a cold solder or a spring that binds that could help everyone.
A hero in the making!

ok i have some new info before i actually tare into the multifunction switch

i removed the MFS and had noticed the TWO wire (Green and White wire and a solid black wire) had been broken so i repaired and temp reconnected the MFS and Brake switch

i wedged the brake pedal and went to the rear of vehicle and still only the passenger brake light is working so i thought bummer.

i then disconnected that two wire brake switch and rechecked the lights and still same thing (only passenger brake light working)

so how can the brake switch work when i have it disconnected?

i mean could this be a seperate problem somehow?

i forget what test i do to make the driver light brake light come on but it will light (just not when i do the brake pedal only)

i think it was if i put the right blinker on and pressed brake pedal then it would light or it was when i turned the flasher on or something.

the wiring to the light is good because there is something i can do to get the bulb to light i just forget what it was.

the question i was asking now is why is the brake light even working at all since i have the brake pedal switch disconnected (the green wire with white stripe and solid black wire)

can someone explain to me how the stop lights for the center top and passenger both work when i step on the brake pedal when i have the stop light switch disconnected?
if the stop light switch has the Dark Green and White stripe and solid Black wire going to it from the multifunction switch?

im not understanding this part

ok i think i figured something out
that green and white wire and solid black wire go to the steering lock switch
its triggered by the brake pedal

crap so now im back to trying to figure out if its the hazard switch or turn signal switch
