Hi I have 1 97 s10 blazer! The other day, I decided to do a little off roading (probably not my best decision!) The truck has 129k mi on it and had a little lifter tap! By the end of my "adventure" I had a SERIOUS rod knock! I drove it home, and thought by some miracle the next morning it would be ok! (yeah right!!!!) The next day I stupidly drove it around....Now it started to overheat, and drained coolant all over the ground! I think the motor is DONE! After my dad & I took the valve cover off we discovered aluminum shavings in the head! Is it worth rebuilding or should I long block it? I think I might just invest in a good pair of sneakers! Thanks! !!

 

i think it is done. Why did you drive it ? Nike's are pretty comfortable.

 

Look into a used engine from your local salvage yard. I pick up a 67K mile beauty for $450.
