Yeah, the two different back styles were available in lots of different year models. They were known as liftgate (minivan style) and tailgate (pick-up style). I believe the tailgate was the most common.

 

Bought a new button for $21 at a dealer today who helped me somewhat and I successfully got it installed. I thought it was a clip in installation and started ripping it out with a vise-grip, putting a little scratch in the paint till I realize I needed to take the latch off. Then I saw the button was held in with a clip. Was able reuse the clip but bent the shell alittle.
