I bought it from an Advance Auto Parts and i can imagine it has a warranty if it does break. But how do i know its not something else?

I dont just wanna go through the trouble of ripping of my gas tank again if this isnt the problem

Would it hurt to at least run a diagnostic first to get my error?

yes its best to diagnose it 1st

but these airtex (after market) pumps tend to provide these problems

Totally go forward with the diagnosing. Be prepared to get a Low Fuel Pressure code.

Will it give me a more specific code than that because from google'ing and such I had pretty much thought I wasn't getting enough fuel pressure?

the fuel pressure gauge will tell you if your getting enough pressure

also a leak down test would tell you if you got a leak in the system

just remember as it says in the article the pump needs to be at 60+ psi with the engine running then not drop below 55 psi after 10 minutes with the truck off.

x3 on the pump being the most likely problem. With your symptoms, all fingers point to the pump, a lot of people have had the same problem. but the pressure test will tell all. keep us posted

Well diagnostics were checked on my truck and came back with no codes. I'm about to get my fuel pressure tested and I'll check back...
