just for the record this happened a fourth time, same spot, on my way to work. Buddy of mine thought it might be a sensor. Any sensor that could do this? The crazy thing is I am a student, and I don't work all that much with school and all, and I usually only drive by this spot when i am going to work. I am convinced the hill may have something to do with it. Not the only hill I drive up, but it is the steepest and the longest. I am going to buy one of those $10 mini OBDII Bluetooth plug-ins that hook up to your laptop or smartphone. Hopefully this will pull the code and I'll go from there.
I just pray it's nothing major

I used coolasice's idea of using an OBDII scan tool to catch it in the act. Bought a $50 Actron from pepboys and replicated the scenario. Pulled P0303, which is cylinder 3 misfire. Checked all the plugs, and Cylinder 3 plug was gapped WAY too much, literally more than 1/8"! replaced all plugs with ACDelco Professional platinums. Drove up the hill once. Will try to drive up faster tomorow to make sure everythings good. I figured the extra load on the engine is what caused the light, and it seems like driving fast up this hill will cause the misfire. Not sure why this problem would only manifest itself after a year of owning the truck. Still pretty puzzled why the gap would be so big. Anyway, I think it was just a stupid fix that I just overcomplicated.
